I'm actually a mother of five, married to a travelling-joe. We moved our house and home thirteen times in the twenty years we've been married. This last move was a little more major, though, causing us to divest ourselves of furniture, accumulated knick-knacks, book/video/toy collections, and the other adornments that we usually lug around to mark our personal space. In the end, we've consoled ourselves with the fact that memories, relationships, and experiences are the adornments we truly want in life. Our mother's china can stay behind...
